Quality Technician

The Quality Technician ensures that manufactured parts meet precise specifications and quality standards by interpreting blueprints, applying GD&T principles, and performing detailed inspections using CMM and a variety of precision measuring tools. This role supports first-shift production by editing PCDMIS programs and conducting thorough quality checks to maintain consistent, reliable output.

• Interpret and work from engineering blueprints to verify that parts meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance and identify nonconformities.
• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform accurate dimensional inspections of parts.
• Edit existing PCDMIS 2025.1 CMM programs to adjust for new parts, design changes, or process improvements.
• Use micrometers, calipers, height gages, depth gages, and other precision gages to perform in-process and final quality inspections.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately to support quality control and audit requirements.
• Perform quality audits on parts and processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain inspection equipment in proper working condition and report any issues that could affect measurement accuracy.
• Follow established quality control procedures and contribute to a culture of accuracy, consistency, and accountability.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Solid working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Hands-on experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Experience editing CMM programs using PCDMIS 2025.1 software.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, height gages, depth gages, and other precision gages.
• Background in quality control and quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results.
• Ability to perform audits and verify conformance to quality standards.

• Experience programming PCDMIS CMM programs from scratch is a strong plus.
• Previous experience with quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
• Comfort working with measurement data and using it to support decision-making.

This role is based in an air-conditioned manufacturing facility where machines and equipment are kept in good condition, providing a clean and comfortable setting for precision quality work. The position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with optional 6-hour shifts on Saturdays. The work involves regular use of CMM equipment with PCDMIS 2025.1 software, as well as precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, depth gages, and other gages. The environment supports focused, detail-oriented tasks and promotes safe, organized, and efficient operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
