Registered Nurse, Float Pool, 36 Hours (Nights / Every 3rd Weekend)

Position Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float Pool Location Boston Medical Center Schedule 36 hours per week, nights and every 3rd weekend. Department The Medical/Surgical float pool serves med/surge, IMCU, and Observation units, providing 24/7 care for adult, pediatric (≥15), and other populations. Position Summary Deliver patient‑centered medical‑surgical nursing care within Boston Medical Center’s nursing organization. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education. Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records, enter and interpret computerized data. Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies. Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects as needed. Job Requirements Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (preferred). BLS certification (required); ACLS certification required for certain units. Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to perform job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus. Job Benefits Competitive pay with an hourly base salary range of $38.05–$75.33.
