Cytotechnologist

Cytotechnician — Upstate New York Near Guilderland

We are looking for a cytotechnician to join a permanent day shift cytopathology team at a well-regarded health system in upstate new york. This is a specialized role that plays a meaningful part in the detection and diagnosis of disease and the monitoring of patient treatment progress.

In this role you will receive and process cytological specimens, prepare them for analysis, perform laboratory procedures under qualified supervision, document test results and quality control thoroughly and accurately, and enter and verify patient demographics and specimen information. You will also contribute to the training of new staff, cytotechnicians, students, and pathology residents, and participate in department projects and ongoing education to stay current with techniques and standards.

The position requires sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare professionals, and lab staff. You will be working within a structured, high-quality lab environment where accuracy, professionalism, and a commitment to patient care are the standard.
