What You Will Do

• Perform general maintenance and repairs at multiple residential group homes.

• Complete interior and exterior painting projects to maintain safe and attractive residential environments.

• Perform sheetrock repair, spackling, patching, and related wall repairs.

• Conduct general carpentry and maintenance projects as needed.

• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and other facility repairs within the scope of training and experience.

• Maintain facility grounds and outdoor areas to ensure they remain safe, clean, and well maintained.

• Move, assemble, and arrange furniture and equipment as needed.

• Conduct routine safety checks and identify maintenance or safety concerns.

• Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner.

• Communicate maintenance needs, safety concerns, and completed work to appropriate supervisors.

• Follow all applicable safety procedures and organizational policies.

• Maintain and safely use basic tools and equipment required to perform assigned work.

• Travel between residential locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Valid New York State Driver's License .

• Reliable personal vehicle for transportation between work locations.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the maintenance field .

• General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical systems.

• Must own and be able to safely use basic maintenance tools.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds .

• Ability to perform physical maintenance tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, reaching, and moving equipment.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance requests.

Preferred:

• Experience maintaining residential properties, group homes, or community-based facilities.

• Experience working in a human services or nonprofit environment.

• Additional trade experience or certifications in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC.

Work Location

Nassau and Suffolk Counties, NY

This position supports multiple residential group homes and requires travel between assigned locations.

Reliable personal vehicle required.

Work Hours / Schedule

Full-time — Monday–Friday

10:00 AM–6:00 PM

Daytime hours with some weekend work as needed .

Pay

$21.00 per hour

Paid Time Off

As a non-profit organization, Community Mainstreaming Associates offers employees the opportunity to qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) , subject to applicable program eligibility requirements.
