Overview of the Role and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general oversight of the unit’s Director or their representative, the Charge Nurse is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities within the unit during their assigned shifts. Working alongside other management team members, this role involves continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services delivered in the unit. The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies and procedures of our organization. Collaborating with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates, and coordinates treatment plans and overall care strategies.

Qualifications Required:

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:

1. Valid Nursing License from Texas or a Compact State
2. ACLS Certification
3. BCLS Certification
4. PALS Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
2. At least 1 year of clinical experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is preferred
3. Experience in leadership and management is preferred
