Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Production SupervisorYour role and responsibilities: In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the unit in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Each day, you will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor. The work model for the role is onsite at Portland, TN. This role is contributing to the success of the ABB Installation Products facility in Portland, TN. You will be mainly accountable for:Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products, including the packing where integrated with production lines.Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.Major Responsibilities/Activities:Visual quality inspectionsPlace product in box with appropriate count in each boxLabel product and boxesTape boxesLift and carry boxes up to 45 lbs.Monitor equipment operationAssist in training of new employeesMaintain work area in clean and orderly fashion – 5SFollow standardized work instructionsParticipate in Lean Manufacturing effortsParticipate in Kaizen eventsCover other positions following appropriate training as neededBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum one month or less similar or related work experienceAbility to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request parts or supplies verbally or in writingPreferred Qualifications:Lean 101Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.We value people from different backgrounds.
