General & Vascular Sonographer

Location: Kansas City, Kansas
Pay Rate: $35–$40 per hour, based on experience
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 8 hours per day
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Work Arrangement: Mobile Ultrasound Services
Relocation Assistance: Possible, discussed during the interview

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled General & Vascular Sonographer to provide mobile ultrasound services to patients in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, home care facilities, and other designated locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable equipment and ensuring accurate patient identification, proper documentation, and timely transmission of images for radiologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general and vascular ultrasound examinations using portable sonographic equipment.
• Travel to assigned healthcare facilities using a company-provided vehicle.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and digitally transmit them to radiologists for interpretation.
• Verify physician orders and confirm patient identity using two approved identifiers before performing examinations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, scan paperwork, and billing documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facility staff, supervisors, and colleagues.
• Monitor communications and respond promptly to urgent requests.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicle in good working condition.
• Follow infection control procedures, medical ethics, safety standards, and company policies.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology program.
• Registration with ARDMS or CCI for vascular ultrasound .
• Experience or competency in both General and Vascular Ultrasound .
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history as required by company policy.
• Ability to travel to multiple healthcare facilities throughout the assigned service area.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
