SENIOR UTILITY COORDINATOR - ORLANDO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Identifying existing utilities
• Reading plans and acting as liaison between designers, utility agency owners (UAOs), and clients
• Assisting UAOs in completion of work schedules (UWS) and utility agreements
• Conducting utility coordination meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and maintaining files of all activities for each utility agency
• Preparing Utility Work by Highway Contractor packages (UWHC)
• Reviewing plans and estimates to evaluate compliance with federal, state, and/or local requirements.
• Scheduling and attending office, field, and Teams meetings with UAOs
• Handling multiple projects on tight design and construction schedules
• Seeking creative solutions to resolving utility conflicts

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in Utility Coordination with the DOT
• Familiarity with FDOT, FHWA, AASHTO standards, policies, procedures, and design criteria
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with FDOT staff, design engineers, and construction managers
• Ability to maintain functional working relationships with utility owners and their contractors; exercise judgment; and facilitate appropriate solutions to issues that arise
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to prioritize projects and tasks to ensure schedule deadlines are met
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work seamlessly with the project team at all levels
