We are seeking a Buyer - Aerospace experience is preferred, for a direct hire opportunity in Van Nuys, CA. This role is ideal for a purchasing and procurement professional with experience supporting manufacturing operations, electronic component sourcing, supplier management, and ERP/MRP-driven buying activity.

The Buyer - Aerospace will play a key role in keeping production schedules on track by sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, resolving shortages, and coordinating closely with customers, suppliers, project teams, planning, receiving, quality, and production. This is a strong opportunity to join a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment where accuracy, responsiveness, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving are valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and purchase electronic components and related materials based on customer BOMs, build schedules, MRP demand, and committed ship dates.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in Epicor ERP, ensuring accuracy of part numbers, revisions, pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, and payment terms with suppliers, distributors, and franchised vendors.
- Manage open purchase order backlogs, confirm supplier acknowledgements, and expedite or de-expedite deliveries as production needs change.
- Coordinate with customers, program management, planning, production, engineering, receiving, stockroom, document control, and quality to support material availability and on-time delivery.
- Identify component shortages, alternate sources, cost-reduction opportunities, EOL buys, supplier issues, and corrective actions that may impact production schedules.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $75,000 to $80,000 per year.
- Location: Van Nuys, CA.
