Facility Maintenance TechnicianOverview Pay: $25 - $31 Hourly Monday - Friday, some Saturdays. Day/Evening Shifts, 10-12 hour shifts depending on production and demand.Summary: Facility Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in industrial establishments.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Maintenance Duties:Visually inspect and test machinery and equipmentListen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machineDismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repair partsCleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machineryLay out, assemble, install, and maintain convey pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipmentRepair and maintain physical structure of establishment using welders, cutting torches, hammers, chop saw, drills, wrenches, and impact gunsOperate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal partsResponsible for the preventative maintenance for all the equipment in the plant, including building preventative maintenance, such as drives, belts, filters, motors and bag housesTroubleshoot and replace defective electrical apparatus, such as switches, relays, motors, and electrical and electronic components of machinery equipmentResponsible for ordering and/or notifying the designated person to order the parts related to maintenanceComply with all safety protocols, including lock out/tag outGlobal Responsibilities:Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this positionThis job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs such as operate loading/unloading equipment as neededQualifications:Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredWelding, cutting torch, and fabricating experience with metal requiredPossession of a Class A or B CDL preferredBasic electric wiring abilities preferredUse of an air compressor, other power tools, and some minor construction equipmentCompletion of a company DOT physical examination and applicable drug testingExperience:Mechanical experience preferredSkills/Abilities:Must be willing and able to climb up, and work at 100 feet above ground; such as on top of silos, or in a manlift bucketAbility to communicate with multiple individuals, including managementWork independently and with the assistance of othersFamiliarity with tools and how things workPromote, demonstrate, and abide by all safety proceduresWorking Conditions:Operation within a fast-paced environmentExposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, heavy construction equipment, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditionsNoise level is usually moderate, but can be high and requires personal hearing protection on occasion at job sites, plants and laboratories – proper usage of PPE for certain jobs may be requiredMust be able to work through stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composurePhysical Requirements:Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and armsOccasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to operate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipmentMust be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary, weekends as neededMust be able to maneuver in and around our plants, yards and jobsites as necessaryLift/Carry up to 55 pounds frequentlyLift up to 100 pounds occasionallyBenefits Information At Ozinga, we care about the well-being of our team members both in and out of the workplace.
