Private Equity Associate – New York

Our client, a leading middle-market private equity firm based in New York, is looking to add an Associate to its investment team.

This is a generalist investing role offering exposure across a broad range of sectors and transaction types. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals throughout the entire deal lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, execution, portfolio management, and exit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct financial analysis, valuation work, and due diligence on prospective investments
• Build and maintain detailed financial and LBO models
• Prepare investment committee materials and transaction documentation
• Support deal execution processes alongside management teams, advisors, and financing partners
• Monitor portfolio company performance and assist with value creation initiatives
• Participate in industry research and market mapping exercises

Candidate Requirements:

• 2–4 years of experience within investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related field
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
• Experience working on M&A, leveraged finance, or private equity transactions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated interest in private equity investing
• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
