The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory therapy services to patients with a wide range of respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess patient needs, administer treatments, and support high-quality patient care. The practitioner is responsible for operating respiratory care equipment and ensuring safe, effective therapy delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols
Assess and monitor patient respiratory status and response to treatment
Operate and maintain ventilators, monitoring systems, and respiratory therapy equipment
Perform diagnostic procedures, oxygen therapy, and patient assessments
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and families on respiratory care treatments and equipment use
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications: Education sufficient to meet certification, licensure, or registration requirements
Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire
National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire
Preferred Skills: Strong understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures
Experience with ventilators and respiratory support equipment
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
