As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide safe, supportive care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal needs are met. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, supporting daily routines and community outings, attending training sessions, and completing special assignments as directed by the coordinator. You must complete the required new‑hire orientation class and have a strong passion for working with individuals with special needs. Physical Requirements Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting or managing resistance related to applying physical intervention techniques up to 50 lbs or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional computer use. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches. Work Environment Work inside adequately lighted and ventilated areas. Possible temperature fluctuations. Use of protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask, protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Possible physical involvement in Safe and Positive Approaches.
