About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN Licensure required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required prior to start Must-Have: - Minimum Experience: 2 years; First timers accepted - General Diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT - Block scheduling is not guaranteed - Ratio: 1:2-3 (traveler should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient) - Patient population includes adults and geriatrics - Staffing & scheduling may vary - Floating within facility as needed - Additional holidays to be worked as required - Full compliance required to start on time Description: The role encompasses the care of critically ill patients in an ICU setting. Candidates should have experience in managing a high-acuity patient population. Skills required include care of ventilated patients, management of central lines, CVA/acute stroke management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with various medical diagnoses and the use of clinical equipment is essential. Interdisciplinary support from various teams is available in the unit. Travelers should be experienced and prepared for the possibility of a 3 patient ratio. Eight holidays recognized; if during assignment, working may be required. All requests for time off must be finalized prior to submission.
