Position Details Position: Grant Operations Specialist Department: Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research Employment Type: Full Time Grade: 05 FLSA: Exempt Salary Range: Minimum $71,447; Mid $90,435; Max $109,422 Work Arrangement: Hybrid work arrangement may be eligible (subject to change). Posting Summary The position administers the accounting and budget responsibilities for multiple active research projects and individual principal investigators in the Institute. Oversees grants administration which includes pre and post-award processes such as budget development, creating and maintaining financial documents, routing proposals through the university proposal system (RAPSS) and post-award fiscal management encompassing close-out summaries. Guides and helps to develop administrative processes and supports general administration. Handles internal business processes and financial responsibilities like purchasing, payroll, commitment accounting and other duties related to grants oversight. Responsibilities As listed above, the role is responsible for managing grant operations, budgeting, reporting, and maintaining compliance with federal award regulations. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience in sponsored projects administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certifications/Licenses: None specified. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent computer skills and experience using software tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Demonstrated knowledge of the Uniform Administrative Requirements, cost principles, and audit requirements for federal awards. Direct experience preparing and submitting applications through grants.gov and other federal submission portals. Preferred Qualifications Experience with MS Excel, MS WORD, grants.gov, and other submission systems. Familiarity with the Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS) and the Rutgers chart of accounts. Equipment Utilized Excellent skills in MS Excel, MS WORD, grants.gov and other submission systems, and search engines. Will be required to learn and efficiently use the Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS) and the Rutgers chart of accounts. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position requires standing and walking less than 1/3 of the time, requires sitting at least 2/3 of the time, and requires talking or hearing 1/2 of the time.
