Established in 1999, Freire Schools is a network of four charter schools across Philadelphia and Delaware whose mission is to prepare students from historically underserved communities for success in college and beyond. For this Culture Data Coordinator position, you'll be working for our high school in north Philadelphia called TECH Freire Charter School (9th-12th Grade): Freire Schools' established rigorous college-prep high school program is infused with technology and entrepreneurship education to unlock creativity and potential in our students. We have a culture that demands excellence from our students while providing them the supports they need to achieve at high levels and prepare for college. TECH Freire's Class of 2025 were accepted to 100 unique colleges and universities and earned over $9.4 million in college scholarships and aid.

What You'll Do

As a member of our culture team, you'll foster a positive and inclusive school environment by implementing strategies to support student behavior, promote social-emotional learning, and foster a sense of belonging and respect among all members of the school community.

Responsibilities

• Work with school leadership and culture team to foster a positive school culture that supports the academic and social-emotional success of each student.
• Maintain safety and order and build relationships with students by being accessible and visible in hallways, classrooms, arrival/dismissal, lunch periods, and after school programs.
• Facilitate restorative conversations between members of the school community and de-escalate students crisis situations.
• Openly and regularly communicate with staff and parents/guardians regarding student behavior
• Maintain student databases with climate/discipline information.
• The Dean position at Freire Charter High School will also function as director of our athletics program

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years of previous successful experience working with diverse student populations, teaching experience preferred.
• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get a job done
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to engage students, parents, colleagues, and community members in supporting youth development

Pay and Benefits

This is a 10-month, part-time position with hours from 8:30 AM 3:30 PM (7 hours per day). The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire's 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.
