Summary:

Provide professional nursing care in a pre-operative setting, ensuring patient safety and comfort in accordance with established policies. Take charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, coordinating care and supporting interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients to identify care needs and organize appropriate nursing interventions.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain a safe environment and accurate patient records.
• Administer medications as prescribed and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
• Support patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical guidelines.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.

Education:

Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year in pre-operative nursing care.

Licenses and Certifications:

Current Registered Nurse licensure (Compact state licensure accepted) and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual patient needs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently. Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain patient safety.
