RN - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), providing compassionate and professional nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia. This full-time day shift role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and dynamic environment serving the Southeastern United States region.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing patients and identifying their care needs promptly and accurately.
• Organizing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans.
• Maintaining a safe and healing environment for patients during their post-anesthesia recovery.
• Administering medications as prescribed by physicians and monitoring patient responses.
• Recognizing and responding effectively to life-threatening situations.
• Serving as charge nurse when assigned, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient care records.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality care and positive patient outcomes.
• Supporting patients' cultural and spiritual needs within the scope of medical care.
• Participating actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state or the relevant regional licensure.

Experience:

• Preferred experience in PACU, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care Unit settings.

Skills and abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual patient needs.

Physical requirements:

• Good speech and auditory acuity for clear communication.
• Visual acuity necessary for patient observation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently.
• Potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
