The Quality Technician inspects finished and welded hoses to ensure they meet established quality standards. This role focuses on conducting pneumatic pressure tests and hydrotests to identify air leaks, determining whether hoses should be returned to welding for rework or moved forward for drying and painting. The position is highly repetitive, requires standing for the entire shift, and involves lifting hoses and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, including the use of an overhead crane for larger hoses.

Responsibilities

• Receive finished and welded hoses from production and prepare them for quality inspection.

• Perform pneumatic pressure tests and hydrotests on hoses to identify air leaks and other defects.

• Visually inspect metal hose assemblies and components for defects, damage, or nonconformities.

• Determine whether hoses should be sent back to the welding department for rework or forwarded to the oven for drying and painting based on test results.

• Use an overhead crane to safely move and position large hoses and related materials.

• Read and interpret tape measurements, shop drawings, and work orders to ensure hoses meet specifications.

• Document inspection results accurately and communicate quality issues to the appropriate teams.

• Use hand and power tools, including impact wrenches, as needed during the inspection and handling process.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop and safety standards.

• Perform repetitive inspection tasks while standing for the full shift and lifting items up to 45 pounds as required.

Essential Skills

• Quality assurance experience, including performing pneumatic pressure tests and hydrotests.

• Previous experience visually inspecting metal parts for defects and nonconformities.

• Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 45 pounds safely and consistently.

• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and work orders.

• Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing or shop environment.

• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including impact wrenches.

• Comfort and safety awareness when operating or working around overhead cranes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General hand and power tool experience in a shop or industrial setting.

• Attention to detail and strong visual inspection skills.

• Ability to work in a repetitive role while maintaining focus on quality standards.

• Basic mechanical aptitude for understanding hose assemblies and related components.

• Strong communication skills to report defects and collaborate with welding and production teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a growing manufacturing facility that is expanding by an additional 20,000 square feet, creating a more spacious and efficient workspace once the addition is completed before winter of 2026. The shop floors are very clean and well organized, supporting a safe and orderly work environment. Work is performed on the shop floor, standing for the full shift in a setting that uses overhead cranes and standard hand and power tools. The environment is structured, repetitive, and production-focused, with clear processes for inspection, testing, and material handling.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rogers, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
