Machine BuilderWe are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team. This position operates on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves significant welding and fabricating, as well as manual machining tasks such as using lathes, mills, and grinders.ResponsibilitiesBuild sub-assemblies from piece parts.Construct new machines and rebuild existing machines from sub-assemblies using blueprints, verbal, and written instructions.Ensure all parts are available for sub-assembly by checking parts in boxes against bills of materials.Collaborate with the Engineering Department to verify the accuracy of blueprints or spec sheets.Essential SkillsWelding and fabrication skills, particularly with stainless steel.Mechanical assembly and machine building experience.Proficient in blueprint reading and the use of power and hand tools.Ability to troubleshoot electrical components and work with pneumatics.Repair and maintenance skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious mechanical experience such as production mechanic, auto mechanic (certification required), or machine shop experience.Completion of one blueprint reading class and one shop math class.Ability to use precision measuring tools like micrometers and verniers.Fluency in reading and writing in English.Strong communication skills.Must pass a company-administered mechanical test.Why Work Here?Join a leader in the food and beverage industry, and the largest food packaging supplier in America. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
