Manager-Retail and Catering Services

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager - Retail and Catering Services. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the management and execution of superior quality within all retail and catering operations. The individual adheres to and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and NYU Langone Health. The role achieves a world class level of food and hospitality for our staff, patients, and guests. Job Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties. Maintains appropriate par levels for food and non‑food supplies to ensure operational efficiency and reduce waste across retail and catering services. Merchandizes retail services and catered events effectively and creatively to promote optimal marketing of the facilities and image. Prepares and reviews accurate and timely event costings and other financial reports while maintaining safe and cash‑handling procedures. Participates in the review, revision, and development of departmental policies and procedures. Maintains a sanitary, safe, and efficient operation in accordance with federal, state, and local health regulations and all standards set forth by The Joint Commission. Participates in developing and managing fiscal operating and capital budgets, including reviewing resource utilization, implementing cost‑saving and revenue‑generation strategies, and coordinating menu cycles, promotions, and service enhancements to increase sales, customer counts, and satisfaction. Participates in selection, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of staff, fostering personal and professional development and ensuring all staff meet competency standards; supervises subordinate staff. Provides all facets of special event planning and collaborates with clients, vendors, and other units to build effective partnerships and deliver desired outcomes. Maintains quality food and service at all designated retail venues and catered events with a hospitality focus, achieving outstanding customer service. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field. At least 2 years of management experience in the hospitality or food‑service industry, including retail services. Certification in the ServSafe program within six months of hire. Required Licenses ServSafe certification. Additional Requirements Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Salary Range Salary range for the role is $69,071.97 – $87,360.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation.
