Senior Accountant

Job Description Job Description Job Summary The Senior Staff Accountant will be a senior-level team lead for the Accounting department who serves to establish and maintain sound fiscal policies and procedures for the Pastoral Institute. This position works closely with the Leadership Team and the Business Office Team to manage the finances of the organization in line with the company's strategic priorities. Manages in coordination with the CEO and HIPAA Compliance officer on all legal/liability issues of the organization. Duties * Lead or oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including full-cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance. Cross Training on all accounting functions. * Prepare and post daily and monthly journal entries, accruals, and allocations (payroll, daily deposit, and revenue). * Prepares detailed annual budget (working with Leadership) in conjunction with CEO for presentation to the Board of Trustees annually. Provides liaison with the Board of Trustees on financial matters. * Maintain internal controls and supervises all general accounting functions, including proper record keeping with entries and backups, filing, and annual storage of financial records. * Prepares/reviews adjusting entries and schedules for annual audit; schedule audit and work with auditors in answering questions, providing necessary information and explaining accounting/financial system; review audit results and implement necessary/recommended internal controls and/or other revisions. * Manages and prepares all W's and 1099 tax records annually. Prepares necessary payroll audits as requested. * In Coordination with the Director of Development/CEO develop grant budgets and track grant funds through fund accounting. * Serves as second in organization to reviews and execute financial agreements of the organization, maintains all vendor records and contracts in collaboration with CEO. * Serves as the Red Flag Compliance Officer. * Reconciles and approves investment statements in SAGE 100 for PI Foundation. Requests funds to support PI operations from investments in accordance with the annual spending policy. Maintain financial records for the Pastoral Institute Foundation. * Attend all required monthly meetings and annual trainings.
