An Exciting Journey Awaits
Your next adventure might just be the career change you've been waiting for! As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Kentucky's most dynamic cities, your impact will extend beyond treating communication and swallowing issues. You will have the opportunity to unlock potential, cultivate confidence, and foster genuine connections aiding children as they begin to express themselves, while supporting seniors in their journey to regain independence.
This position offers the unique privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life in a comprehensive care environment that harmonizes outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient services. Whether your heart lies in pediatric speech development, neurogenic communication rehabilitation for adults, or cognitive-linguistic therapy for the elderly, you will discover purpose and adaptability in this role.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages using standardized assessments and hands-on observational strategies.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that target both immediate objectives and sustained communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to empower their progress beyond clinical settings.
- Assist with infrequent inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care during all stages of treatment.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuous education and interdisciplinary cooperation.
Educational Requirements
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications Needed
- State licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment is mandatory.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in employing evidence-based therapy techniques across all age groups, combined with a strong understanding of both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy approaches to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive salary reflective of your experience.
- Flexible work schedules designed to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Opportunities to focus on specializations, whether it be in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay for a well-deserved break.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Support for continued education and professional growth.
- A community-oriented, collaborative workplace committed to quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That Resonates with You
In this role, you won't just deliver speech therapy; you'll be part of a heartfelt mission to facilitate communication and connection, crafting moments of joy through the simple yet profound act of understanding. You'll join a community of clinicians who treat one another like family, within an environment that champions collaboration over competition. Each patient has a story to tell, and we trust you will play an essential role in how it unfolds.
