This hands-on role supports day-to-day facility operations, performs routine maintenance and repairs, and travels between company locations as needed to address facility and operational needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently across a variety of maintenance and facility tasks.In This RoleProvide hands-on support for operational needs, including facility upkeep and maintenanceTravel between company facilities as needed to provide maintenance, repair, and operational supportManage inventory for parts and supplies necessary for repairs and improvementsMaintain cleanliness of facility through sweeping, mopping, dusting, yard work, and building maintenanceOperate equipment such as floor scrubbers and compactors for trash and scrap removalContribute to safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness and safety committeesIdentify and report maintenance issues, spills, or hazardous conditions promptlyRestock cleaning supplies in common areas, bathrooms, and breakrooms as neededEnsure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipmentContribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety and practicesOther duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualificationsUphold the Four Hands Core Values and be a valuable member of the team:Be open and honestReach for excellenceAct with responsibilityValue the whole personEnjoy the journeyThe Ideal PersonValid driver's license required and ability to safely drive between company facilities as needed to support maintenance and operational needs2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, janitorial, or general handyman workBasic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and minor equipment repairsComfortable operating maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, compactors, and hand/power toolsAble to safely lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working indoors and outdoorsStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify and report maintenance or safety concerns proactivelyOrganized and dependable, with the ability to manage supplies and complete tasks with minimal supervisionCommitted to workplace safety and following OSHA and company safety practicesTeam-oriented with a positive attitude and a willingness to support a variety of facility and operational needsAbout Four HandsHeadquartered in Austin, Texas, since 1996, Four Hands crafts furniture, art and décor — pieces that are all about creating space.
