About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required ACLS certification required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Description: Type of patients on the unit include cardiac and telemetry. This is not a stepdown unit. Every other weekend is required. No call is required. The nurse to patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing. Epic is the EMR used in this position. The nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation. Routine and complex care is provided, with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. The nurse continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Appropriate assignments and delegation to other care providers are made to help manage the clinical situation. Nursing care is provided utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Increased complexity of psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families is addressed in accordance with the level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, medications and treatments are administered while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given are documented. Learning needs are assessed and education is provided to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; issues and resources are identified.
