Supply Chain Planning Manager (Bilingual Korean)

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a qualified Manager, Supply Chain Planning for our Laredo, TX office. This role will establish a clear vision for all logistics planning activities for the logistics cycle of all Samsung products from manufacturing shipping to Samsung warehouses and to our customers. The position ensures the smooth operations of the transload by the management of individual shipments in transit, the determination of shipping methods, the management of delivery and documentation, and the processing of claims through phone and personal contact with logistics colleagues at our business partners, internal partners, and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a major business process within the supply chain planning team. Make business-related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature. Decisions on matters that have moderate to significant impact on business operations, financial results, and vendor relationships.
• Leads the development of logistics business plans with the US logistics team, HQ, along with 3PL service providers.
• Manage and measure supply chain planning processes including; volume forecast, ideal transportation mode, customer overstock management, urgent load mode/route management, and diversion management.
• Manage and measure logistics processes including; inbound and outbound volume control, ETA & OTD & OTRQ(On Time Right Quantity) management, carrier activity, E-POD & POD verification, cost management (inbound/outbound/transloading, etc.), and damaged products claims identifying exceptional or high cost deviations and making procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines.
• Manage and measure transloading warehouse processes including: transload capacity planning, KPI management, and bottleneck management.
• Manage volume in and out of the transloading center, planning resources based on production, inbound, and outbound.
• Track and oversee direct ship sales and revenue from Laredo transload facility.
• Analyze logistics data, identify and predict deviations from process, and make procedural changes to take advantage of increased opportunities for efficiency or correct inefficiencies within the logistics systems.
• Yard management; manage Inbound and Outbound (loaded and emptied) container movement to minimize aging.
• KPI review and performance analysis.
• Develop, implement, and supervise innovative cost-saving projects for increased efficiency in operation and communication with all the departments involved.

QAULIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (In Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or similar) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of people management experience.
• Bilingual (English/Korean) preferred.
• Advanced Excel, SAP, WMS, and ERP.
• Able to utilize expert supply chain operations of processes from factory to customer and can identify and predict unlikely problems within the delivery cycle.
• Has the scope of authority to make changes to processes, and personnel, to meet departmental objectives.
• The ability to develop, read, prepare, interpret, and understand product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and thorough preparation of transportation documents.
• Resolves problems of moderate to large scope where analysis of data requires the identification of obscure or undefined factors and decisions that have a significant impact on business performance.
• Exercises judgment and makes decisions on business situations outside established procedures and approves exceptional cases.
• Experience in working with a global company and logistics.
• Experience in handling consumer electronics and/or home appliances is a plus.
• Must be able to travel within the United States and Mexico.
