Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license in hand Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: Requires PA lines, scrubs in navy blue Description: This position is for a step-down unit requiring a registered nurse. The unit is a 12-bed, 24-hour observation area utilized by the heart and vascular service line. Patients will include low acuity critical care individuals awaiting placement in higher-level care. Ventilators, CRRT, and Impella devices will not be accepted. The unit can accommodate LVADs, multiple drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters. It will serve as an observation area for patients needing longer monitoring after same-day procedures. This moderate care unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patient turnover. A wide variety of patient diagnoses will be encountered, providing a robust learning platform. Working in this role will develop organization skills, critical thinking, and enhance assessment capabilities. A rhythm identification test will be required upon starting the position, which will be proctored. Candidates will have two chances to pass the test, which is not multiple choice.
