The Physical Therapy Specialist provides assessment, consultation, and direct physical therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs; collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods, and patterns of instructional support.

This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list for future hiring purposes. The position will remain open until there are enough qualified applicants from which to make a selection. POSITION SCHEDULE: Positions typically work 10 months (220 days) or 11 months (242 days) per year. The salary is based on an 8-hour workday, 11 months, 12 pay schedule. The salary will be adjusted per actual hours worked.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and California license as a Physical Therapist; clinical affiliation in pediatrics is desirable; experience working with children in physical therapy or educational setting is highly desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California to practice physical therapy. Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).

Examination Process The examination process includes an application screening and evaluation based on the applicant's education, work history, and responses to the application questions.
