Office Assistant

Thompson & Litton is looking for an Office Assistant to join our Radford, VA office. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be an important part of the day-to-day operation of the office while providing administrative support to our architecture, engineering, and surveying teams.

You'll be one of the first people our clients and visitors meet, a go-to resource for our team, and a key part of keeping projects and office operations on track.

What You'll Do

Be the face of our Radford office.
Greet clients, visitors, and vendors, answer phones, coordinate conference rooms, and help create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Keep our project teams organized.
Support Project Managers and technical staff with proposals, contracts, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), project documents, formatting, proofreading, and Construction Contract Administration (CCA) support.

Help keep the business running smoothly.
Assist with monthly invoicing, expense tracking, petty cash, distribution lists, operational reports, and other administrative needs that help our teams stay focused on their work.

Take ownership of the details.
Manage office supplies, coordinate vendors and maintenance, keep shared spaces organized, and help with office events, holiday activities, Lunch & Learns, and other team initiatives.

Jump in where you're needed.
No two days will look exactly the same. You may be helping finalize a proposal one afternoon and coordinating a vendor or preparing a report the next. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety and can confidently shift priorities when things get busy.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience in an administrative, clerical, office coordination, or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent proofreading, typing, formatting, and organizational skills
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines without losing attention to detail
• A friendly, professional approach when working with clients, vendors, and coworkers
• Experience in an architecture, engineering, construction, or other professional services environment is a plus
• Experience with document management systems, shared servers, project administration, or invoicing is helpful
