Schedule & Assignment Details

• Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Training Duration: Approximately 4-12 weeks; 6-8 weeks is typical
• Post-Training Schedule: Swing shift between 2nd and 3rd shift
• Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Assignment Duration: Expected to last at least 12 months

Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring product integrity throughout the manufacturing process and through final release. This position uses standardized laboratory techniques and operating procedures to conduct and analyze tests on sensitive samples.
The Laboratory Technician is a critical member of the Quality Team and supports a strong Quality and Food Safety culture .
Essential Job Functions

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HACCP requirements , established SOPs, and all applicable safety procedures.
• Successfully complete all required laboratory training.
• Perform analytical and sensory testing on in-process and finished products accurately and within required timelines.
• Record, interpret, and enter test results into designated forms and LIMS software.
• Identify inconsistencies or out-of-specification trends in testing data and escalate concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Receive, handle, store, and maintain samples according to established procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, take corrective action when appropriate, and maintain accurate records.
• Safely handle, organize, and store chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases according to applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Complete required verifications of testing methods, standards, equipment, and instruments to ensure accurate performance.
• Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing.
• Maintain retained samples of tested products when required to confirm results.
• Monitor laboratory testing supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Continually compare test results against established standards and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with Quality, Operations, and other departments in person and through radio, email, and telephone.
• Perform routine responsibilities with minimal supervision while also working effectively as part of a team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional laboratory work area.
• Assist with training colleagues as needed.
• Perform duties in accordance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and food safety requirements.
• Assume additional Quality Control responsibilities when necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in an applied science preferred.
• Previous analytical laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic arithmetic.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong willingness to learn and actively participate in training.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and OneNote .
• Ability to learn and operate software associated with laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established safety procedures.
• Must be willing and able to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while performing job duties.
• Ability to work from heights and perform bending, kneeling, and stair climbing.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. , including moving items such as gas cylinders.
• Ability to safely handle potentially hazardous chemicals and laboratory materials.

This position may involve exposure to various chemicals and food allergens due to the nature of the manufacturing environment and laboratory responsibilities.
