Medical AssemblerThis role involves assembling and packaging medical devices used for diabetic care in a clean-room environment. You will receive comprehensive training across several operations, including packaging diabetic testing kits, hand assembling diabetic needles, learning basic coil winding, and operating entry-level machinery. The work combines standing and seated tasks, requires strong attention to detail, and emphasizes quality over quantity in a fast-paced production setting.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and package diabetic testing kits by following detailed work orders and standard operating procedures.Place 5–10 components into each testing kit, ensuring all required parts are included and correctly positioned.Run completed kits through a scanner to register the product ID number accurately and place them onto racks for final packaging.Perform hand assembly of diabetic needles while seated at a workstation, working with small parts ranging from the size of a pen cap to a sewing needle.Progress to assembling up to approximately 1,400 parts per shift while maintaining high quality and consistency.Inspect components and assemblies visually and with microscopes as required, identifying and reporting any defects or quality concerns.Learn and perform coil winding by placing very fine wires into a clamp using tweezers and monitoring the machine as it winds coils.Operate entry-level medical assembly machinery that builds diabetic needles, monitoring the equipment for jams or malfunctions.Collect finished products from machines, place them into bags, label them correctly, and prepare them for further processing or shipment.Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with clean-room and safety regulations.Follow all quality control procedures and documentation requirements to support traceability and regulatory compliance.Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing accuracy and product quality over output volume.Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors regarding production status, issues, or improvement opportunities.Essential SkillsAt least several months of medical assembly experience.Demonstrated experience working in a clean-room or similarly regulated environment.Ability to perform medical or electronic assembly tasks with small parts and components.Comfort using microscopes for inspection and quality verification.Experience with packaging and labeling in a production or assembly environment.Strong attention to detail and a high level of quality consciousness.Ability to both sit and stand for extended periods during a shift.Solid and consistent work history demonstrating reliability and commitment.Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and follow verbal and written instructions.Capability to work in a fairly fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with medical device assembly or inspection.Experience in electronic assembly or related precision work.Familiarity with clean-room gowning procedures and working under regulated conditions.Comfort working around industrial machinery and automated equipment.Ability to use tweezers and other fine tools to handle very small wires and components.Willingness to learn new operations such as coil winding and entry-level machine operation.Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for repetitive, detailed tasks.Positive attitude toward teamwork, continuous learning, and process improvement.Why Work Here?You will join a small, supportive company culture where permanent and contract employees receive the same respectful treatment and opportunities. You will work around industrial machinery in one of the most well-ventilated shops, supporting comfort and safety throughout your shift. The role involves both standing and sitting tasks, with anti-fatigue mats available at standing stations and seated workstations for hand assembly. You will follow low-level clean-room gowning requirements, which allow wearing makeup and jewelry while still maintaining cleanliness standards. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., providing a consistent routine in a structured production setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shoreview, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.80 - $18.80/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
