Catallia Mexican Foods, LLC is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our team on all shifts!

Shifts: *Required overtime every other Saturday per production demands
1st - 6:00AM - 2:30PM
2nd - 2:00PM - 10:30PM
3rd - 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

PAY: $20.50/hr + $2 Shift Differential for 3rd shift only

Position Overview
This is a first-hand position and will require that the individual be responsible for the operation of a production line. The Operator will be accountable for achieving operational goals, while maintaining quality and safety standards. This individual will be responsible for contributing to a consistent, safe, and productive work environment through participation in corporate programs and adhering to operational and personnel policies and procedures. With a focus on the success of the overall operation, the individual will work closely with the production, quality, sanitation, and maintenance teams to maintain optimal quality, safety, and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Verify and confirm recipes, seasoning, weights, size, and accuview settings are in accordance with ERP System (Plex) requirements for all changeovers and product runs.
• Ensure all equipment is taken apart and needed parts are properly cleaned for deep-clean changeovers; contact Quality Control for final approval.
• Turn on equipment and verify that it is running properly. Notify appropriate supporting department if any issues are noted.
• Clearly and accurately fill out all production paperwork and maintain ERP System (Plex) requirements.
• Communicating issues that prevent maximum performance of the line to the Lead and/or Supervisor.
• Perform required computer-based tasks and maintain accurate records within the ERP system.
• Assist sanitation department with equipment cleaning and ensure parts are properly put back.
• Accurately record waste by using correct settings and troubleshooting if not correct.
• Communicate to the mixer and utility person the plan for each product running.
• Monitor quality standards and notify Quality Control of any product problems.
• Adjust machine settings accordingly to ensure proper size and weights.
• Pick up daily production schedule and review for accuracy.
• Properly and safely replace Mesh and Teflon belts.
• Assist in the regrind process.

Additional Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity.
• Communicate effectively with the machine operators and management.
• Actively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense-related activities.
• Work with the maintenance team to resolve any equipment issues.
• Cover breaks for Machine Operator – Mixers on the line as needed.
• Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as directed.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to take directions.
• High attention to detail.
• Focus on quality.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety requirements, quality standards, and production procedures at all times.
• Must have experience operating industrial manufacturing machinery, including equipment setup, startup, monitoring, and adjustment.
• Must be able to make sound decisions related to equipment operation within the responsibilities and authority of the position.
• Must be able to work quickly and accurately while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
• Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and demonstrate equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Must be available to work additional overtime hours on the assigned shift every other Saturday when production demand is high.
• Must be able to adjust equipment as needed to meet product specifications and minimize waste.
• Must be able to safely operate assigned production lines and equipment.
• Must wear closed-toed shoes while working in the production area.
• Must have previous experience working in a manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform repetitive movements and tasks, including repeatedly lifting 50-pound bags of formula and entering information into ERP and HMI systems to adjust oven flame and mesh belt speed.
• Must be comfortable working with significant temperature changes when moving between warm production areas and cooler areas to remove tortilla jams.
• Must be comfortable working in a warm environment where temperatures may reach up to approximately 100°F, particularly during warmer months.
• Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, stand, twist, and turn for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Must be able to frequently push a mixing bowl containing product for approximately 6–8 hours per shift.
• Must be comfortable working in a loud and fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift and carry between 30 and 55 pounds as required.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and bend throughout the assigned shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic English language skills, both written and verbal.
• High school graduate or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of food manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience using an ERP system.
