Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM per unit notes)
Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with Level III NICU and trauma designation
This travel assignment focuses on providing comprehensive perinatal care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods in a high-acuity L&D environment. The unit uses EPIC for charting.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients and families across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, manage labor progress, administer medications, and assess amniotic fluid status and vaginal bleeding.
- Circulate for cesarean deliveries, assist with epidural catheter placement, and monitor status during and after medication administration.
- Recognize and manage perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash cesarean, precipitous labor, shoulder dystocia) with appropriate action.
- Develop and implement multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the health care team; educate patients and families at all stages.
- Supervise and delegate care to ancillary personnel within scope of practice; ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC; apply advanced fetal monitoring and pain management strategies, including consideration of alternative pain controls when appropriate.

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification as applicable
- EPIC experience required
- Per unit policy, NRP/ALS and related certifications must be current
- Ability to work a 36-hour weekly schedule on nights in a high-acuity L&D setting
