Chief Development Officer - small molecule parenteral drug (Fractional, Part-Time/Contract, Remote)

Reveal is developing a first-in-class small molecule parenteral drug for contrast-enhanced MRI. Our manganese-based MRI contrast agent is designed to provide a safer alternative to gadolinium-based agents. Reveal's lead program has FDA Fast Track designation and has completed a Phase 2 clinical study demonstrating excellent efficacy and acute safety results. Beyond advancing patient care, Reveal’s technology has the potential to address three important global challenges: improving patient safety, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening healthcare supply chain resilience. Invented at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School, Reveal combines world-class science with an experienced clinical, scientific, and business team. We are seeking a Fractional Chief Development Officer to lead development of our Phase 2 lead asset and broader R&D pipeline. This independent consulting (contract) role will average 10 to 20 hours per week, with the potential to expand for the right individual as Reveal’s programs advance. Reveal operates with a lean, multidisciplinary team based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Occasional in-person meetings in the Boston area are preferred. The Opportunity The Chief Development Officer will lead development strategy and execution across Reveal’s portfolio, partnering closely with the CEO, scientific founders, leadership team, Board, advisors, and external partners. This is a role for a builder: someone who can define strategy, make critical decisions, and be directly engaged in the execution required to move programs forward. The CDO will: Lead development of the Phase 2 lead asset through late-stage clinical development and regulatory submission. Develop and execute integrated clinical, regulatory, CMC, and operational strategies and timelines. Guide clinical trial execution, CRO management, data review, and key development decisions. Create the development plan for Reveal’s fibrogenesis pipeline and lead its advancement. Build and lead a high-performing development organization using the optimal combination of employees, consultants, CROs, and advisors. Support strategic partnerships, fundraising, licensing, and corporate development activities. A clear, proactive communicator and program manager with excellent judgment, integrity, and accountability. Qualifications 15+ years of biopharmaceutical drug development experience. Relevant advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent). Executive leadership experience at the VP level or above. Significant small molecule and parenteral drug development experience. Track record advancing programs from Phase 2 through NDA or equivalent regulatory submission. Experience spanning preclinical development through IND and early clinical development. Strong expertise in clinical development, regulatory strategy, global drug development, and program management. Strong talent network and experience building and leading virtual teams, CROs, consultants, and external partners. Preferred Imaging agents and/or imaging clinical trials. Global clinical development, including ex-US studies. FDA Fast Track or other expedited regulatory pathways. Fundraising, licensing, partnerships, M&A, and/or exit experience.
