Fall 2026 Teaching Assistant (Doctoral Student) Hiring Department: School of Civic Leadership Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 20 FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Dec 31, 2026 Location: Austin, TX Purpose As the School of Civic Leadership is an interdisciplinary unit, it seeks Teaching Assistants across a variety of academic fields including but not limited to: Government/Political Science, History, Economics, Business, Statistics, Philosophy, and related fields. Responsibilities Assist with grading of assignments such as projects, exams, and essays. Host office hours. Facilitate intellectual discussion sessions. Monitor and track attendance, uphold attendance policy. Proctor exams. Carry out additional academic administrative duties as assigned by instructor. Required Qualifications Current graduate student in Government/Political Science, History, Economics, Business, Statistics, Philosophy or a related field. Must be in good academic standing. Salary $4,205 monthly (equivalent to a 40‑hour work week; prorated for 10‑20 hour work week).
