Credit Analyst

UniCredit’s New York office is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join its Business Credit Analysis team. The role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate lending and financing transactions, with responsibility for performing in-depth credit analysis, supporting transaction structuring, and monitoring a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join an international banking platform and work closely with senior coverage bankers, product partners, risk management teams, and European colleagues on complex credit transactions involving large corporates and multinational clients. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive credit analysis of corporate clients, including financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, industry research, peer benchmarking, and risk evaluation Prepare and run five-year integrated financial and cash flow projection models to assess liquidity, debt repayment capacity, leverage metrics, and downside stress scenarios Prepare credit applications, annual reviews, amendments, waivers, and other approval materials for internal credit and investment committees Analyze transaction structures, term sheets, and financing documentation to identify key risks and structural considerations Monitor an assigned portfolio of corporate borrowers and proactively identify emerging credit risks, rating implications, and potential risk mitigation actions Conduct ongoing industry and market research to assess sector trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic developments impacting credit quality Partner closely with coverage bankers and product teams to evaluate new business and financing opportunities Prepare clear, concise written credit recommendations and present findings to senior stakeholders and credit committees Demonstrate interest in leveraging technology and data-driven tools to enhance analysis and efficiency, including AI applications, workflow automation, and reporting solutions Qualifications: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant corporate credit analysis experience within a commercial bank, corporate bank, investment bank, or other financial institution Strong knowledge of accounting, financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, cash flow analysis, and corporate finance Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to run and analyze forecasting, leverage, liquidity, and stress-testing models independently Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or formal credit training program is a plus Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or similar financial information platforms Experience with Power BI, Python, Power Automate, and other data analytics or automation tools is highly desirable Desirable but not essential is a working understanding of 1FP Modeling Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented, proactive, and intellectually curious, with strong attention to detail and sound judgment Compensation: The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at UniCredit is: $100,000-$150,000 Generous and competitive benefits package Internal mentor and buddy program cross-departmentally Friendly and inclusive workplace culture 401(b) plan and match #EmpowerCommunitiesToProgress Our Purpose is to provide communities with the levers to progress by ensuring the highest ESG standards across our bank.
