Position Summary The responsibilities of this position are to provide targeted intervention support to elementary‑age students. The role includes small‑group reading instruction based on diagnostic assessments, strategic planning for reading instruction and interventions, overseeing student identification and management for READ plans, supporting grade‑level teachers with intervention strategies and utilizing Lexia and Reading Plus, providing stakeholder feedback on student performance, encouraging parent/guardian involvement through open houses, volunteering, parent‑teacher conferences, and promoting community relations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create a positive learning environment and effective management structures to promote effective teaching, learning, and student achievement. Design routines that engage students through questioning, speculation, and originality. Collaborate with specialists and provide unique learning opportunities, including inclusion and research‑based practices for students with special needs. Promote an environment that respects the dignity of the child and is perceived as fair and consistent, incorporating opportunities for advanced and non‑proficient students. Ensure classroom processes, procedures and data collection are organized and effective with optimal use of instructional time. Motivate, engage, and empower learners to track and monitor their learning. Develop authentic learning experiences and assessments that incorporate contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning and promote 21st‑century skills. Collaborate with educators from other grades or subject areas to establish cross‑disciplinary links and influence school‑wide curriculum. Demonstrate mastery of content to make curriculum rigorous and relevant to all students. Deliver content that is relevant to students and applicable to the real world while integrating Colorado Academic Standards and differentiating lesson planning based on individual needs. Use data management tools to analyze results, identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Provide timely, constructive feedback that encourages students to perform at their highest level. Utilize technology or other avenues to communicate with stakeholders. Establish rapport with students, staff, and parents to enable proactive responses to potential problems. Actively participate in staff meetings, PLCs, and other required events. Apply and implement knowledge and new understandings to improve instructional programming. Advocate for and lead initiatives that enhance student success in and out of school. Follow a professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision‑making. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Supervisor Responsibilities Possible supervision of support personnel. Conduct supervisory duties in accordance with organization policies and laws, including participation in interviews, training, assigning and directing work, providing performance feedback, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Budget and Resource Responsibilities Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently, create and implement efficient process management strategies, maintain accurate records, and review processes for improvement opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor of Arts (required). Master of Arts (preferred). Experience working with targeted groups of students (special education, English language learners, low socioeconomic status). English fluency determined through interview and licensure. Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Valid Colorado Teaching License endorsed for Elementary Education and/or Special Education and/or Linguistically Diverse. General Expectations Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changing school needs. Strong computer and educational technology skills. Works effectively with students and staff from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Collaborates seamlessly with supervisors, school leadership, and co‑workers. Capable of understanding and executing complex oral and written instructions. Performs duties independently with minimal supervision. Communicates effectively and professionally with the entire school district community. Skilled in data analysis, instruction, coordination, problem‑solving, and interpersonal interactions. Proactive, collaborative, and solution‑oriented problem solver. Proficient in comparing, computing, synthesizing, and evaluating student data. Meets attendance standards and works required hours. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding student and staff records. Upholds a positive attitude to cultivate a supportive professional learning community. Complies with all district policies, procedures, and federal and state laws. Essential Physical Requirements Frequent lifting 5–10 pounds. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Frequent sitting, bending, walking, and standing. Occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. Work Environment The noise level is usually quiet; the environment is mostly clean and comfortable. Reports To Principal or designee. Location Clayton Elementary School. Salary Salary range: $54,587 – $105,191, based on education, experience, and negotiated agreement. Full‑time (1.0 FTE) full school‑year assignment. Positions less than 1.0 FTE or less than a full school year are prorated. Additional Information New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
