Senior Cost Accountant

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY

Provide support to the business operations team on cost drivers of the business. Oversee and analyze cost expenditures and purchases.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as inventory, raw material purchases, labor, and overhead.
- PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis and reporting.
- Margin analysis on material revenue vs material costs, including yield/scrap loss analysis.
- Assist in month-end close of the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries.
- General ledger account reconciliations.
- Reconcile inventories and analyze periodic changes to balances.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Continuous improvement of cost accounting functions and processes.
- Various ad hoc reporting and analysis.Other duties which may be assigned by your manager
QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of cost accounting or financial analysis
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, CPG a plus
Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles
- High proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables
- ERP system experience, prior usage of Microsoft D365 a plus
- Experience with Nulogy WMS/MRP software a plus
- Experience developing and analyzing standards costs
- Ability to effectively communicate results and issues to various audiences
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Naturally inquisitive and proactive mentality
