Purpose of the Role The Commercial Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing budgeting, forecasting, and commercial modeling functions to partner with the business in key decision making. This individual will perform financial, statistical, and analytical studies, and prepare and assist with financial reports and statements. This will be a hybrid position based in Chicago, IL. This role will be required to be on‑site 2‑3 days per week, with the ability to work from home the remaining days. Key Responsibilities Work with Technology Business Unit and be key finance contact and owner to drive business results. Provide deal support and commercial modeling for new and existing customers within supported sectors. Collaborate cross‑functionally to improve business results. Assist in developing Monthly reporting analytics for upper‑level operational management. Develop and submit the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for BU. Work with senior management to develop and execute new reporting initiatives. Support Commercial Finance Manager and Director in the financial management of client accounts. Assist with the analysis of client contracts, scopes of work and business cases, highlighting commercial risks and opportunities. Prepare and maintain client budget and forecast models, identifying variances and emerging trends. Produce profitability analysis at client, account or project level to support commercial reviews and negotiations. Support growth initiatives through financial modelling and scenario analysis. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management information, including P&L analysis and variance commentary. Support the month‑end close process, including accruals, revenue recognition and reconciliations, in line with internal policies. Assist with annual budgeting and rolling forecasting cycles. Maintain and improve reporting tools and dashboards to enhance visibility and insight. Knowledge, Skills Experience 2 years of finance / accounting experience; preferably within a professional services or public accounting firm. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create concise, high‑quality reports, while also communicating effectively with internal departments and outside resources. Strong process skills with a demonstrated ability to drive change. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Excel. Experience excelling within ambiguous environments. For Illinois based applicants: The US base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, education, certifications and work location. This range may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus targets, benefits and/or other applicable incentives in addition to base salary.
