RN - Oncology (Direct Hire), Days, Tulsa, OK

Pay Range: $29.80 - $35.00

Shift/Schedule Details: Days / Mon - Fri / 8:00 - 5:30pm

Incentives (Sign-on Bonus / Relocation): $2,500 Sign on (1 year commitment)

Additional Notes (if any): Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in OK, Must have Oncology experience, should have Stable work history, infusion experience Valid BLS

Duties: - Job Summary: Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care utilizing the nursing process as ordered by physicians for the purpose of facilitating the effective delivery of patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess, organize, and carry out patient care with consideration to patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
• Assist physician with patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments according to established protocols.
• Administer medications via intra-muscular injections and intravenously including the administration of chemotherapy as directed by physician order.
• Coordinate patient care through the triage of patient telephone calls regarding urgency of appointments, scheduling, and hospital admissions according to established protocols.
• Promote patient population wellness by providing patient education materials pursuant to physician orders and communicating physician advice and instructions to patients.
• Document all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, and appropriate medical data in patient medical record according to established protocols.
• Successfully uses IDX, EMR and other computer applications to accomplish tasks according to policies and procedures.
• Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

• Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
• Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.

Skills:

• Required Skills & Experience:
• One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Working knowledge of intramuscular and intravenous medication administration techniques.
• Working knowledge of nursing principles and protocols.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
• Effective and appropriate assessment and assistance techniques required in the medical examination of patients.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Education:

• Required Education: Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
