Summary The Shared Services and Purchasing Manager will provide the daily oversight and delivery of all services and purchasing for the entire organization. Responsibilities include managing the delivery, category of spend, and suppliers for shared services such as travel, expense management, logistics, mail services, office supplies, breakroom management, shredding, and supplier relationship management. The role also oversees the Purchasing function, aligning purchase orders with contractual obligations, ensuring efficient PO management and invoice matching, and orchestrating onboarding of new groups through acquisitions and mergers. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in a business‑related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with applicable experience. Responsibilities Manage a team supporting the delivery of shared services and purchasing support across the organization. Manage categories of shared services, develop and execute strategies aligned with company objectives. Oversee travel services, online booking tool, travel management company, and expense reporting tool. Optimize processes, systems, tools, workflows, and procedures for efficient transactions and maximum user experience. Onboard new groups to systems and processes during acquisitions. Continuously evaluate service providers, resolve issues, and ensure performance meets standards. Provide general management responsibilities to team members. Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving work environment. Apply logic and reasoning to assess alternative solutions and approaches. Communicate effectively, including written communication. Stay informed on shared services industry trends, regulatory considerations, and major issues. Detect and prevent fraudulent situations using processes, tools, and techniques. Encourage creative and alternative thinking to generate solutions. Assess risks and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Act as financial steward, monitoring expenses versus budget and potential impacts. Motivate, develop, and direct team members, selecting suitable personnel. Build constructive, cooperative working relationships. Provide customer‑service orientation, actively seeking ways to help people. Utilize Microsoft Office functions to enhance organizational efficiency. Basic Requirements 10 years of experience in leading Purchasing and Shared Services management functions. 10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. 10 years in supervisory/managerial roles. Preferred Requirements Industry certifications such as CPM, APICS, CPSM, CSPM, Certified Travel Expert (CTE), or similar. 15+ years of leading Shared Services and Purchasing experience. 15+ years in the Financial Services industry.
