Make a meaningful impact in the lives of school-aged children by providing essential nursing care in an educational setting. This per diem opportunity near Paterson, NJ is ideal for compassionate nurses with a strong clinical background interested in supporting students with complex medical needs. You will play a vital role offering 1:1 nursing support during the school day, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of a nonverbal, non-ambulatory student within the K–12 population.
Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey RN or LPN license required
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred
- Comfort supporting individuals with cerebral palsy and complex medical needs is strongly desired
- Confident in providing G-tube care
- Knowledgeable in seizure identification and emergency response
- Experienced supporting nonverbal, non-ambulatory students
- Dependable, highly attentive, and able to provide dedicated, individualized nursing care
Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day, adhering to individualized health plans
- Administer G-tube feedings and medication as prescribed
- Recognize and respond promptly to seizure activity and other medical emergencies
- Record student health data and communicate proactively with educational and healthcare staff
- Support transfer, mobility, and positioning needs sensitively and safely
- Provide a calm and reassuring presence for the student and their support team
