Chief of Staff

Basic Resources is looking for a Chief of Staff to serve as strategic partner and right hand to the President. This person will drive key strategic initiatives, strengthen cross-functional processes, and manage day-to-day operations across the organization. The ideal candidate operates comfortably within ambiguity, loves identifying and solving problems, translates strategy into execution, and builds trusted relationships with leaders and teams at every level. This is a growth opportunity, with a seat at the table in all major leadership decisions, and ultimately can lead to a role with commercial P&L responsibility. Responsibilities: Strategic Initiatives: Partner with the President to define, prioritize, and drive execution of top strategic initiatives across the organization. Conduct research and analysis to inform decisions on new opportunities, markets, or business challenges. Track progress against strategic goals; prepare executive-level reporting, briefings, and insights. Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner, exercising sound judgment on behalf of leadership. Cross-Functional Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and gaps across departments and work with cross functional leaders to design and implement practical solutions to close them. Build and optimize workflows, systems, and communication cadences that increase organization-wide alignment. Facilitate cross-functional projects, ensuring stakeholders stay aligned on goals, timelines, and deliverables. Establish and maintain frameworks and scorecards for tracking operational and process health. Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operational execution, including buying, allocation, tech pack development, and item setup, ensuring smooth functioning across departments. Partner with the business insights team to ensure clear master data management Manage key operating rhythms, including staff meetings, weekly reporting, business reviews, and planning cycles. Own special projects and system implementations end-to-end, from planning through execution and measurement of results Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or a related field. Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable impact. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort synthesizing complex or ambiguous information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization. High degree of discretion, trust, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information. Adaptable and effective operating with shifting priorities and limited structure. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a plus. Flexible to be on-site at least 3 days a week.
