Position Summary and Purpose:

Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) for their Burn Unit. In this role, you will deliver nursing care to patients with various age groups, burn injuries, and complex diagnoses. Utilizing the nursing process, nursing practice standards, and adhering to the American Burn Association Burn Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, you will play a crucial role in achieving safe, optimal patient and family-centered care outcomes. Essential Functions:
Under the direct supervision of the Burn Clinical Nurse Manager, this position will involve providing nursing care to patients, including but not limited to:

• Conducting systematic, continuous, and comprehensive assessments of patient health status.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers for stabilization and fluid resuscitation in burn injuries.
• Assessing the severity of burn injuries using evidence-based practices.
• Providing comprehensive wound assessment and management for burn and complex wound injuries.
• Administering medications per licensure authority, assessing effects, and documenting administration.
• Assisting in rehabilitation phases, scar development, and contracture prevention.
• Collaborating with the patient and family to plan care using current scientific knowledge, theory, and care standards.
• Identifying and prioritizing patient problems based on assessment data, safety considerations, and patient preferences.
• Implementing nursing care interventions to meet patient and family-centered healthcare needs.
• Conducting regular and systematic reviews of patient/family responses to interventions.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program of nursing (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience (preferred).
• Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain Kentucky Nursing License.
• Certification: BLS required; ACLS and ABLS preferred (or obtained within 1 year); CBRN certification preferred.
• Shift Requirements: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts/week.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates professional conduct and appearance, accountable for actions and outcomes.
• Orients new team members and supervises students.
• May act as a relief charge nurse when needed.
• Maintains professional competency through continuing education.
• Participates in evidence-based practice activities.
• Acts as a collaborative member of the healthcare team.
• Performs duties in a cost-effective manner.

Pay Range: $29.00 - $47.85 per hour
