TAMPA SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING (SUE) TECHNICIAN 2 & 3

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide underground utility designation with proficiency utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic equipment and other geophysical means.
• Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, and all other underground facilities.
• Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce accurate field drawings and sketches of results.
• Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment to verify utility characteristics and record depth of utility.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites.
• Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters.

Requirements

• High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
• Experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus.
• Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
• Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time).
• Required to travel overnight when needed.
• Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on project.
• Knowledge of equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work for any employer in the United States.
• Minimum of 1 year experience.
• Experience with operating vacuum excavation equipment and some exposure to electromagnetic designating equipment and ground penetrating radar (GPR).
• Top level candidates should have experience operating and instructing others how to operate vacuum excavation equipment, electromagnetic designating equipment, and ground penetrating radar (GPR).
