ITS Project Manager

Overview Job Description Dewberry is currently seeking a ITS Project Manager in our Fairfax, VA, or Richmond, VA office . This position offers an opportunity to join a large team of traffic engineers. Projects will include a wide range of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) design projects for clients in the mid-Atlantic region and the eastern United States. This role will lead the ITS design on projects that include elements such as vehicle detection systems, vehicle surveillance systems, dynamic message signs, toll rate signs, toll gantries, and connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of ITS and traffic engineering experience, including experience on VDOT, MDOT, and/or design-build projects. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to monitor schedule and budgets, and the ability to work in groups and lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers. This position also offers potential to build project management and client management skills while working on innovative projects. The position also offers flexible work hours and the ability for part-time telework. Responsibilities Manage and perform various ITS related tasks as noted above Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals Meet with clients Participate in business development Required Skills & Required Experience BS in Civil Engineering PE license required Minimum 10 years of experience in ITS design and traffic engineering VDOT, MDOT and/or design-build experience preferred MicroStation experience required Project Management and leadership skills preferred Ability to effectively develop new business Electrical design experience preferred Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills The projected range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 annually.
