Work Environment

The physical therapy department is located within our modern rehabilitation center in Avenel, New Jersey, a community that values healthcare and wellness. Our on-site facilities are equipped with advanced rehabilitation equipment and resources, creating a collaborative space where therapists can work together to share knowledge and strategies. You will be working in a full-time capacity, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a work-life balance that is conducive to both personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, establishing clear treatment goals that align with their needs and capabilities.
• Administer hands-on physical therapy treatments, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques tailored to each patient.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to maximize effectiveness and ensure accountability.
• Facilitate communication with interdisciplinary teams and relevant community resources to support comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation goals, safety practices, and strategies to maintain their health post-treatment.
• Adhere strictly to New Jersey State Practice Act regulations and the APTA's Code of Ethics, maintaining ethical standards in all interactions.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to enhance your treatment capabilities and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Rethink Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse population of patients, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric individuals. Patients may present with various conditions such as orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation needs, musculoskeletal disorders, balance impairments, and chronic pain issues. Your role will be to deliver individual-focused treatment while ensuring that care plans are tailored to address the specific concerns of each age group.

Qualifications

• DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy) from an accredited institution, with a solid theoretical and practical understanding of physical therapy practices.
• Valid physical therapist license in the state of New Jersey, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, demonstrating a history of successful patient outcomes.
• Strong familiarity with orthopedic rehabilitation principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
• Experience with specialized rehabilitation techniques such as aquatic therapy, sports rehabilitation, or manual therapy practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to achieve common goals related to patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
