About this Role:
The role of the Payroll & Revolving Fund Specialist is to process payroll warrants, distribute Salary Advance checks and Travel Advance checks, print Revolving Fund checks using the check writer and check signer, prepare monthly Salary Advance, Office Revolving Fund, and Bank reconciliations, provide mailroom services, archive accounting records, and maintain the Service Center and reception area.

Working Conditions

This role requires daily in-office attendance.

DHCS is situated in midtown Sacramento on the second floor of a professional office building. Typical work requires prolonged sitting using a computer, calculator, and telephone, and interaction with co-workers and outside vendors. It’s conveniently located directly across from the scenic Capitol Park and State Capitol with access to public transportation, ample parking options, close to numerous restaurants and grocery stores for your convenience.

Statement of Qualifications Requirement Section

Salary Information

Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 agreement

Salary: Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee receive a temporary reduction in pay in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The temporary salary reduction percentage and the number of PLP 2025 leave credits are based on the position’s associated bargaining unit.
