Chief of Anesthesiology Position

Our organization is in search of a fellowship-trained, board-certified Anesthesiologist to fill a full-time Chief of Anesthesiology role at a local hospital. This leadership position involves managing the anesthesia department, overseeing clinical operations, staffing, and implementing quality initiatives.

Position Highlights:

• Lead a collaborative team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
• Supervise anesthesia services in the operating room, obstetrics, and endoscopy.
• Promote quality improvement, innovation, and patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and administrative leaders.
• Develop protocols and mentor clinical staff.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Anesthesiologist with fellowship training.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing anesthesia teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
• Eligibility for a New York State medical license and DEA registration.

Compensation Structure:

Base salary options are available based on call requirements and leadership stipends:

• Track 1: $575,217 plus a $91,520 leadership stipend.
• Track 2: $600,000 plus a $91,520 leadership stipend.

Onsite shifts consist of 44 hours per week for 44 weeks, totaling 1,936 hours annually. Call shifts are structured as follows:

• Track 1: 1 in 8 weekday shifts (12 hours each), 1 in 8 weekend day shifts (24 hours each), and 1 in 6 holidays (12 hours each).
• Track 2: 1 in 5 weekday shifts (12 hours each), 1 in 5 weekend day shifts (24 hours each), and 1 in 6 holidays (12 hours each).

Additional Compensation:

• Starting & Retention Bonus: $100,000 (with a 2-year clawback).
• Chief Stipend: $91,520 annually for 416 hours of administrative leadership.
• Compensation for excess call and onsite shifts.
• OB call compensation.
• Quality incentive compensation starting from the 3rd anniversary.

Please note that the posted salary represents the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift incentives, or other forms of cash compensation applicable to the position. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. This salary range is provided in accordance with state law and may vary based on the factors mentioned above.
