The Opportunity
The Cocktail Hour is opening in the heart of the French Quarter — a new multi-level cocktail and entertainment destination from the team behind Jewel of the South, alongside hospitality veteran Deke Dunne, most recently of Allegory in Washington, DC. Housed in the storied 1104 Decatur Street (past home to Storyville, Margaritaville, and B.B. King’s Blues Club), this is a ground-floor opportunity to grow with one of New Orleans’ most ambitious new hospitality concepts.

We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead nightly operations at a venue unlike anything else in the city: an evolving, immersive cocktail experience built around five seasonal “chapters” — Halloween, Holidays, Carnival, Festival Season, and Summer — each bringing new design, drinks, music, and programming rooted in New Orleans’ cultural rhythms. Layered on top is a rotating residency program hosting 30 of the world’s best bars and bartenders through Summer 2027, taking over the upstairs bar for guest shifts Friday through Sunday nights. Reporting to the General Manager, Director of Operations, and Creative Director, you’ll be a hands-on leader on the floor and a key partner in keeping the venue running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Run shifts as manager on duty across a multi-level venue open seven nights a week, keeping service consistent and high-caliber through every seasonal transition
• Support the residency program on the ground, helping coordinate schedules, setup, and hospitality for visiting bars and bartenders on guest weekends
• Help train, coach, and schedule front- and back-of-house staff, modeling the culture and standards the team carries across each seasonal identity
• Work with the GM, bar program, and design/production teams to bring each chapter’s rollout to life on the floor
• Assist with inventory, ordering, labor tracking, and vendor communication, flagging cost and quality issues as they come up
• Uphold health, safety, and liquor licensing standards on every shift
• Welcome and look after VIPs, media, and visiting industry guests during residency weekends

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3+ years of supervisory or management experience in high-volume bars, restaurants, or entertainment venues; multi-level or multi-concept experience a plus
• A genuine passion for craft cocktails and bar culture, and comfort working alongside a world-class bar program
• Composure and adaptability; this space transforms five times a year
• Working knowledge of inventory, labor, and cost control, with a desire to grow your financial skills (P&L exposure a plus)
• Strong organization and communication skills; event or guest-program experience a plus
• A deep appreciation for New Orleans hospitality and culture, and pride in sharing it with guests from around the world
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends, including holidays and peak festival periods
